Wedding Video File
Size Calculator
Estimate file size before upload or delivery. The simple formula is bitrate multiplied by duration. Use the table below as a planning guide for storage, hosting, and client downloads.
Quick formula
File size in GB is roughly: bitrate in Mbps x seconds / 8 / 1024. A 20-minute film at 25 Mbps is about 3.7 GB before container overhead.
For client delivery, estimate the combined size of every deliverable, not only the highlight film.
Planning notes
Higher bitrate improves preserved detail but creates larger downloads. For streaming galleries, test real playback rather than relying on export settings alone.
Always keep a master archive separate from the client delivery encode.
Feature comparison
| Film | Typical duration | Planning question |
|---|---|---|
| Highlight | 4 to 8 minutes | Is the file easy to stream and download on mobile? |
| Ceremony | 30 to 90 minutes | Will the couple need chapters or separate sections? |
| Speeches | 20 to 60 minutes | Should each speech be its own video? |
| Full edit | 45 to 120 minutes | Is long-term download storage clearly explained? |
